Pairing: Hatake Kakashi x Uchiha Sasuke
Theme: #4 our distance and that person
Disclaimer: I don’t own Naruto.
Sasuke's head hurt and there were spots in front of his eyes. He wanted to close them, but when he did, dizziness would take over him and he felt like he’d want to throw up. He wanted to get away from the loud music and laughter, but he wasn’t stable on his feet.
He fell to the ground and scooted to a nearby wall, curled up and pressed his head against his knees. He wondered if he would be crying now, if he remembered how.
He wasn’t sure how long he stayed this way, trying to block out all the noise in order to clear his head, before he felt a hand on his shoulder.
He imminently tensed up and shot his head up, his body instinctively preparing for a fight.
When he saw the familiar masked face of his old teacher, his shoulders dropped. He didn’t relax for long though, as he thought he saw a flicker of anger in Kakashi’s visible eye. For a moment, he was sure Kakashi was going to slap him, hard.
(He could picture the slap clearly, and the jolt of pain that would run through his face, and make tears build up being his eyes. He thinks that maybe Kakashi would let his hand stay on Sasuke’s face for a bit too long in the end, though. It was probably just wishful thinking.)
Instead, Kakashi sighed. He grabbed Sasuke’s wrist and pulled him up.
Surprised by the action, and unsteady and still woozy, Sasuke fell against Kakashi’s chest. Kakashi kept him steady by setting on hand on the small of Sasuke’s back.
(He’s not in the right mind, because he thinks it’s like a hug.)
“Can you walk?” Kakashi asked.
Sasuke didn’t answer. Instead he focused on how Kakashi still felt so much bigger then him. How his hand, flawless in its execution of hand seals, but worn with several tiny scars, felt against his back. The feeling of Kakashi’s heart beating next to his ear and the warm breath covering his head consistently.
“Sasuke?” Kakashi said.
Sasuke lifted up his head and was going to tell Kakashi that he could walk, even if he wasn’t sure if he could, but the words died before they even touched his lips, because he was suddenly overcome with the desire to kiss Kakashi.
He squeezed his eyes shut and lowered his head, hoping that Kakashi would know what to do.
